MORTH Responsibilities.




"MORTH" is an acronym for the  'Ministry of Road Transport and Highways'. It is a ministry of the Government of India responsible for the development and maintenance of national highways, state highways, and other road networks in the country.


The ministry is responsible for formulating and implementing policies and programs related to road transport and highways, including the construction and maintenance of highways and bridges, improvement of road safety, and regulation of motor vehicles. It also oversees the functioning of various organizations and institutions involved in the road transport sector, such as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the Indian Road Congress (IRC), and the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
